Suso has refused to rule out a return to Liverpool.

The Spaniard has been in impressive form for AC Milan and has been tipped to move back to Anfield.

He insists he is happy at the San Siro but has not ruled out the possibility of eventually moving on.

Suso told Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport: “I could have left even before signing the new contract, but I am very happy here.

“But then in football, there is nothing called ‘for life ’.

Liverpool to rival Manchester United for £32million Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri

Liverpool have joined the race for Nice midfielder Jean Seri after scrutinising the Ivory Coast star closely in the last month, writes Sunday Mirror’s Steve Bates.

Kop scouts have been watching the energetic 26-year-old star as Jurgen Klopp looks to beef up his midfield options this summer with Emre Can set leave after so far rejecting a new deal.
Manchester United had been checking Seri but boss Jose Mourinho has reservations believing the 5 foot 6 inch African star lacks the physicality he prefers in his players.

Mourinho hasn’t shut the door on a potential deal for the £32 million rated star but United are believed to have other targets they are also monitoring.

Seri, likened by many to Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, maybe small but he’s attracted big attention with Arsenal also on his trail.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah makes incredible gesture to young cancer sufferer

Big-hearted Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is helping to pay the medical fees of an Egyptian child who is suffering from cancer, writes the Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce.

Salah – who has shone in his first season with the Reds, scoring 31 goals – has been in contact with his young compatriot Adbelrahman Mahmoud, who is from the Egyptian city of Tanta and needs a bone marrow transplant.
The child’s father has revealed that it is his son’s dream to meet his idol, and that once Salah found out about that he stepped in to help the family pay for his treatment.
“We’ve reached someone who lives in a town close to the player’s village and then managed to talk to the player’s father who told him about my son’s case,” Abdelrahman’s father told DMC Sport channel.

“He contacted us and talked to Abdelrahman on the phone since he is not in Egypt now and told him that he will be visiting him once he’s back.

“Salah is in regular contact with Abdelrahman, his support had a positive effect on the child’s health.”

Arsenal’s 3-0 surrender to Manchester City in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final came with an “air of inevitability,” according to a leading fans’ group.

With the club also sixth in the Premier League table languishing 27 points behind leaders City, out of the FA Cup following a third-round defeat at Nottingham Forest and up against Italian giants AC Milan in the last-16 of the Europa League, the cup final was a chance to garner both silverware and support.

Instead, the majority of Arsenal fans traipsed out of Wembley long before the final whistle, with Lois Langton — chair of the Arsenal Independent Supporters’ Association — offering a frank analysis of what the latest high-profile setback means.

“For many supporters, yesterday’s match epitomised the problems that have been building for several seasons now,” she told Press Association Sport. “What we witnessed was the culmination of years of arrogance and stubbornness. The solution is blindingly obvious and it is painful to watch what is happening to our wonderful club.

“Criticism is never easy to accept but constructive criticism should not be confused with negativity.

“Manchester City are an outstanding team. It is no disgrace to lose to them. What is a disgrace is the manner of the loss, the repetition of mistakes that we have seen countless times before and the post-match sound bites that are offered up as some sort of justification for losses.”

The Gunners were easily beaten by Pep Guardiola’s side, who did not have to be anywhere near their mesmerising best to secure the first major silverware of the season.

The defeat saw more criticism of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger following a largely-inept display from his team, with Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville labelling a host of Arsenal players “spineless” while there were further harsh words from plenty of other quarters.

Wenger has come under fire in recent years as Arsenal have failed to challenge for the Premier League title. The Frenchman has won three FA Cups in the last four years and penned a new contract following the latest of those successes in May.

“Yesterday’s match wasn’t met with anger and a chorus of ‘Wenger Out’ chants. Instead, there was a sense of inevitability,” Langton continued.

“Few went to the match with high expectations. What we now have amongst Arsenal supporters is a huge dose of apathy. It’s as if the fight has gone because supporters know it’s futile.”
Langton also called on the Arsenal hierarchy to point the finger at Wenger, who many fans believe has been given an easy ride given recent failings.

“Yesterday’s match must mark a turning point,” she added. “For the sake of our football club, the board must grasp the nettle. It is clear that steps (which are acknowledged and welcomed) have already been taken to secure the future of the club but the hardest decision of all still sits with the club and that concerns the manager.

“Nobody is denying what he has achieved for the club but that cannot be used as a self-serving justification to prevent change.

“It simply cannot continue. It is not about winning silverware. The problems are so much more deep-rooted than that and are undermining the values on which our club has been built.”

Cheap Discount Atletico Madrid FC Jersey

In what was a very tactical and tense game at the top of La Liga in a battle between second placed Atletico Madrid and third placed Valencia, the hosts ran out 1-0 winners after the precision of a thunderous Angel Correa strike on 59 minutes proved the winner in a fairly uneventful clash at the top of the Spanish first division.

Atletico started the game in quick fashion, forcing the pace and pushing Valencia back early on.

The home side were certainly eager to maintain boss Diego Simeone’s unbeaten record against the away side and continued to push Valencia back but with little end product bringing action from Neto.
The best effort from the opening 15 minutes came from Saul Niguez in the 11th minute as the central midfielder fired a 35-yard shot high and wide of the Valencia goal.
Saul saw another chance to try his luck from distance 12 minutes later, the Spanish international’s shot bringing a diving save from Neto despite replays showing the shot inches wide.

Atleti troubled the goal face on 27 minutes when a cross from Vrsalko brought panic in the Valencia defence when Diego Costa attempted an overhead kick, with Antoine Griezmann failing to make the most from the rebound.
Eight minutes later saw Neto in action once more as a thumping header from Costa brought an athletic reaction save from the Brazilian to keep parity.

The closest chance of the half for the away side fell eight minutes before the break when a quick free-kick was passed wide to a free Jose Gaya on the left wing, the Spaniard needing two chances to whip in a ball that finds forward Simone Zaza. The Italian firing a stumbling effort harmlessly wide of Jan Oblak’s goal.

The tense battle continued in similar vein for both sides after the interval. Proceedings were slowed when Atletico centre-back Diego Godin was substituted after being punched in the face by Neto as the pair challenged for a cross – with the Uruguayan defender losing a tooth for his troubles.
Griezmann directed a tame header towards Neto on 53 minutes, bringing a simple save from the keeper as Simeone’s side continued to have the lion’s share of possession.
With half an hour to go, Atleti found their all important breakthrough via a sublime 22-yard pile-driver from the boot of Correa. After receiving the ball in the final third from Koke, the winger had the time to turn, compose and shoot a pin-point shot thunderously past a despairing Neto.

Correa proved troublesome on a couple more occasions, the most notable being another shot in space at the edge of the 18-yard box forcing a save from the Valencia goalkeeper.

As the game drew to a close, despite the introduction of all three substitutes for the away side it failed to generate any new threat or urgency from Marcelino’s men, with Simeone’s side happy to absorb pressure and try and counter.

Valencia’s efforts in the tie were summed up with ten minutes to go when Soler blazed a shot high and wide with Oblak having a relaxed time in goal, meaning Atletico sit as the only side who can really trouble Barcelona at the top, especially after their 1-1 draw with Espanyol earlier on Sunday.

Antonio Conte has admitted that he was delighted with Michy Batshuayi’s performance for Chelsea FC in their 3-0 victory over Newcastle United in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The Belgian striker scored twice in the first half for Conte’s men as he helped the Blues to book their place in the fifth round of the competition.

Batshuayi has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Chelsea FC this season following the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
However, he has been called upon in recent days after Morata’s lay-off with a back injury.

Batshuayi will now be hoping to prove himself to Conte as he bids to earn a regular spot in the first team in the second half of the campaign.
And Conte has admitted that he was pleased with what he saw from the 24-year-old agains the Magpies at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Speaking at his post-match news conference, Conte said: “I don’t know if it was his best game, but it was very important for the team and for him.

“For the striker to score is very important for confidence. We are talking about a young player with great potential. Today I showed the most important thing is the present, not the future, otherwise I would have taken other choices.

“Michy has worked with us for one-and-a-half years, and he has improved a lot in many tactical situations. We are talking about a powerful player because he is strong physically, and for sure he has a lot of space for improvement.

“My task is to work with him and every player and try to improve them, and if I do that the team improves. I am very happy for him and for the team. Now we have to continue in this way.”

Chelsea FC now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

The Blues are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they look to try and close the gap to both of the Manchester clubs.

Cheap Discount FC Bayern Munich Jersey

Bayern Munich are out to avoid a third successive defeat to Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim on Matchday 20.

It’s Bayern Munich versus Hoffenheim: a generation game that never ceases to entertain, pitting Bundesliga legends against streetwise upstarts who enjoy pestering the establishment.

Bayern may have reigned supreme in 2017, but an otherwise outstanding year was bruised by a couple of kicks to their formidable Bavarian shins. Hoffenheim’s steel-capped toes delivered both blows, making them the only top-flight side to beat the champions twice in the same calendar year.

Watch: Uth double earns Hoffenheim Bayern scalp!

Andre Kramaric’s killer drive sealed the Sinsheimers’ first ever Bundesliga triumph against the men in red last April. On Matchday 3 this season, a Mark Uth double made the difference as Julian Nagelsmann’s men beat Bayern again, extending an unbeaten run against their Bundesliga rivals to three games.

Yet the division’s youngest tactician has yet to face the granddaddy of them all. Instagram may be the photo sharing app that boasts 800 million monthly active users, but Jupp Heynckes likely refers to his photo albums when schooling the game’s students on his successful past.

Among the many similarities between Heynckes and Nagelsmann – ambition, drive to succeed and tactical ingenuity – age is not one of them. There is a difference of 42 years, two months and two weeks between these fine footballing men, with Bayern’s coach having been involved in 641 top-flight matches before Hoffenheim’s main man was even born.

Watch: Heynckes’ Bayern tactics explained
While Nagelsmann flicks through his Insta memories of an incredible top-four finish in the Bundesliga last season, Heynckes can turn the pages of a photo book containing images of World Cup and European Championship glory.

A few sections will no doubt be given to that double Bundesliga triumph and glorious UEFA Cup run, and then there were the two Torjägerkanone trophies awarded to Germany’s top goalscorer. The 72-year-old achieved all of the above by Nagelsmann’s current age: 30.

It’s just one more factor that will fascinate at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, where the on-field action seems certain to flow, despite Saturday’s visitors’ faltering rhythm of late.
“Taking 11 points from the last ten games is not good enough. We know we have to improve; our performance last year set the bar very high,” Nagelsmann explained recently.

Currently ninth in the standings, Hoffenheim have won just once in their last five Bundesliga games, scoring only four times during that sequence and never managing more than a single goal in a given game.

“We haven’t made good enough use of our chances,” Nagelsmann continued. “We have to get that second goal more frequently so that our opponents don’t have a chance to get back into the game,” striker Uth added. “We must get that desire we played with before back … we want to qualify for Europe once again this year.”

Watch: The formula behind Hoffenheim’s surprise top-four finish in 2016/17
Bayern have ambitions of their own as they seek to extend a 31-game unbeaten run at the Allianz Arena. “[We want to] put in a good performance, get another three points in the bag and move another step closer to our goals,” was midfielder Arturo Vidal’s take ahead of a 20th Bundesliga meeting between these teams.

It’s a fixture that is still young, but one that has quickly gathered a gritty rivalry and seen familiar faces change allegiances. Over the past year and a half, Sebastian Rudy, Niklas Süle and Sandro Wagner have swapped Sinsheim for Munich while Bayern acquisition Serge Gnabry is currently on loan at Hoffenheim.

“This is just going to be a normal game for me,” Gnabry explained prior to the contest. “I’m with Hoffenheim now and look to give everything for the team. We have to score points in Munich so we can stay [in touch with the top positions].”

Watch: Serge Gnabry’s dazzling contender for Goal of the Season
Should maximum points be sought by Die Kraichgauer once again, they will have to handcuff Thomas Müller to a bicycle rack outside the stadium. The Bayern ace chalked up his 100th goal for the club in last weekend’s 4-2 win against Werder Bremen, meaning that in the 78 games in which he has scored for the Bavarians, they have never lost.

“We’re looking forward to the challenge,” Naglesmann responded, as the coach contemplated a tactical concoction that could deliver yet another photo finish to a growing collection against Germany’s record champions.

Barcelona centre-back Thomas Vermaelen will miss the crucial Copa del Rey quarter-final second-leg tie against Espanyol on Thursday (25 January) after scans confirmed that the Belgium international will be sidelined for around two weeks due to a hamstring injury.
The 32-year-old defender began the campaign as Ernesto Valverde’s fourth-choice centre-back but took advantage of the long-term absences of Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano to establish himself as a key member of the squad.

However, Vermaelen will be unable to continue his impressive form in the coming games after suffering a new hamstring injury during Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Real Betis on Sunday.

The Belgian started alongside Gerard Pique in the heart of the back-line but was replaced by Umtiti in the 41st minute.

Subsequent scans performed on Monday morning confirmed the worst for Valverde, with Vermaelen now set to miss the upcoming derby with Espanyol.

“FC Barcelona’s medical services have confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen has a hamstring injury in his left leg and tests on Monday have ascertained that the Belgian defender will be out for around 2 weeks,” the La Liga giants confirmed.

Thomas Vermaelen was forced off during Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Betis

Valverde still took some positive news from the game as Umtiti was able to play more than 45 minutes and looked fully fit despite having missed almost two months due to another hamstring injury.

The France international is expected to start against Espanyol on Thursday, when Barcelona will try to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit to go through to the semi-finals.

Andres Iniesta, Mascherano, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé all missed the win over Betis due to various injuries. However, the first three may have a chance to return to action against Espanyol after completing part of a training session on Monday.

“The first session of the week was a recovery one for the players who started against Betis at the Ciutat Esportiva. Andrés Iniesta and Javier Mascherano also trained alongside their team mates on Monday,” Barcelona added.

“The coaching staff also included Aleñá, Kaptoum, Dani Morer, Samu Araujo and Hongla in the session from Gerard López’s B squad as well as Iñaki Peña from the U19 squad.”

Coutinho also appeared in the pictures of the training session provided by Barcelona after Valverde suggested last week that the Brazilian could make his debut in the crucial derby.

“I’m reluctant to put an exact date on a start for Coutinho, but the progress of the injury is very positive,” he said in a press conference ahead of the trip to Betis.

“He had a small muscular problem in his quadriceps, which is a particularly sensitive zone when striking the ball with power, but I hope he’s soon with us. Thursday is possible and I hope that today he can train with the rest of the squad.”

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus returned to team training on Wednesday and coach Peter Stoger said he liked what he had seen from him.

Reus, 28, was back with his teammates as BVB trained in Marbella, Spain, taking a significant step towards his comeback from knee surgery in June.

The winger has not featured since the DFB Pokal final in May, during which he suffered a partial cruciate ligament tear.

He now appears on target to make his return to the team in February, allowing him time to regain full fitness to compete for a place in Germany’s World Cup squad.

And Stoger told reporters: “I am not a doctor — but what I saw, I liked that very much.

“Still, he will need some time. But just watching him, you could think he’s already ready because he’s such an outstanding footballer.”

Alongside Reus, fellow Germany international Mario Gotze, midfielder Gonzalo Castro and right-back Lukasz Piszczek also resumed training.

The quartet wore blue jerseys during the match, signalling to their teammates not to tackle or go into one-on-one situations with them.

“They are all good footballers, and you can build something good from it,” Stoger said. “This makes it very exciting for us.”

Meanwhile, local newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten reported on Thursday that Dortmund have “stepped up contact with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.”

The Armenia international has become surplus to requirements at Manchester United, who he joined from Dortmund in summer 2016.

And that would hand Manchester United a boost in pursuit of their reported target.

Reports in Italy have previously linked United with a swap deal for Portuguese playmaker Mario – with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.

Corriere dello Sport claim Mario is being lined up as a January replacement after Mkhi was dropped from the squad for the Manchester derby.

He has also been linked with a £26million move to Arsenal.

Inter paid £40m to Sporting for Mario, 24, in 2016 and would look to recoup that fee.

Despite his huge price tag, the 31-cap Euro 2016 winner has seen himself relegated to the bench this season.

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also monitoring Mario’s situation as the highly-rated midfielder looks to kick-start his career elsewhere.

Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini said: “Joao has some issues with the lack of playing time.

“We don’t want to lose him. He is our player and we want to keep him.”

Juventus are hoping to persuade Liverpool to sell Emre Can in January, rather than losing the German for nothing in the summer.

Can, who scored in the Reds’ 5-1 thumping of Brighton at the weekend, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is still determined to keep the German international at Anfield, last week declaring it was important that Can was persuaded to stay.

However, negotiations between Can’s representatives and the Merseysiders’ have been at a standstill for some time.

That has seen a number of clubs, including Can’s former side Bayern Munich and Spanish champions Real Madrid, mentioned as potential suitors.

But it is Juve who have held the longest interest in the versatile former Bayer Leverkusen star, and according to Corriere dello Sport they are keen to press ahead with a move next month.

The Bianconeri don’t want to be drawn into an auction for Can’s services and hope to persuade Liverpool by paying a ‘small sum’, rather than waiting for what has been deemed an ‘auction’ next summer.

However, that is unlikely to spark any interest at Anfield, unless it is in excess of £15-20million. Even then it may not be enough to persuade Klopp, who wants to continue building and is determined not to let his star men leave.

“We want to keep him,” said the German last month. “We have to be as attractive as possible as a club.”
